Argentina's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Awards Large Contract for English Training

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina has been awarded a contract worth 114,044,133 pesos to train 132 staff members, including regular personnel and diplomats from the Institute of Foreign Service (ISEN), from March to November 2026. The total teaching workload amounts to 594 hours. According to the contract signed with the Argentine Association of English Culture (AACI), the government will pay 191,993 pesos for each hour of in-person classes. It is important to note that this cost covers a comprehensive service, including the provision of a virtual platform, administration of up to 80 placement tests, certifications, attendance tracking, and the distribution of original books from Oxford and Cambridge publishers to all 132 students. The government argued that AACI was the 'only provider' capable of guaranteeing this service under the required specifications, which led to the direct award of the contract after signing an Integrity Pact witnessed by the Anti-Corruption Office.
